At Grupo Financiero Ficohsa, we are convinced that support for small and medium-size enterprises is decisive for the country’s development, since this sector is the driving force behind the Honduran economy. It has been found that SMEs in Honduras have serious limitations on issues such as access to training and information, as well as the use of technology for their businesses, problems with quality control of their products, and problems in managing their business finances.
This is why we have a specialized SME Banking, with a team trained to provide the necessary support and service to this segment.
This led to positioning the institution as the main bank for entrepreneurs looking for a reliable financial advisor. Banco Ficohsa has more than 24,000 small and medium-size business customers, with sales ranging from 2 million to 50 million Lempiras. Some of the financial products and services offered to customers are: Lines of Credit, Securities Collection, Bill Payment, Credit Card, among others.
NON FINANCIAL SERVICES FOR SMEs
According to the research carried out by the Ficohsa Team in the different documents and studies carried out in Honduras on SMEs, only 11% of SMEs have received any type of training, and this has been through the National Institute of Vocational Training (INFOP), and the different Chambers of Commerce of the country. A marked disinformation of regulatory, fiscal and legal changes that affect the performance and profitability of companies has been detected.
For this reason, a training program for clients in this sector was implemented in 2017, where training was provided in areas such as:
- Social Networks Management
- Tax Law Updating
- Customer Service
- Labor Inspection Law
- Reading and Interpretation of Financial Statements
- Social Security Framework Law
- Business Structuring
A total of 150 companies were trained in the cities of Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula, contributing to the development of small and medium-size businesses.
